Learn the Science of Snow at the Grand Rapids Public Museum
Kids have a lot of fun in the snow. Now there's an educational opportunity designed to channel that excitement into a learning experience.
The Grand Rapids Public Museum is giving kids a chance to learn the science behind snow with a special hands-on program.
GRPM's Science Tuesday program will feature the science of snow throughout December. Science Tuesdays is an ongoing weekly series which offers educational opportunities for kids with a new theme each month.
Visitors can interact with snow, ice and water while learning how salt changes the freezing point of ice and different ways to measure temperature. Visitors will also make their own snowflake structures and learn how ice crystals change into snowflakes.
The program takes place each Tuesday in the Museum’s Galleria from 10AM to 4PM. Activities are free with general admission.
