Led Zeppelin Pinball Machines Unveiled: Photos, Video
Three new Led Zeppelin pinball titles have been unveiled, days after initially being teased in a short promotional video.
The Pro Edition features design and wrapping inspired by Led Zeppelin III, while the Premium Edition is adorned with the artwork from the band’s self-titled debut album. The third Limited Edition version of the pinball machine features Led Zeppelin’s Icarus artwork. Created for the band’s Swan Song record label, the image has since appeared on much of their promotional material.
“There is nothing more energizing and fun than bringing pinball and music together,” said Gary Stern, chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball, the company behind the new titles. “Partnering with Led Zeppelin, we created a one-of-a-kind pinball experience. It’s our dream goal to create a pinball machine with this iconic rock band.”
Ten of the band’s most recognizable songs are featured in the game: “Good Times Bad Times,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “The Song Remains the Same,” “Rock and Roll,” “Trampled Under Foot,” “Ramble On,” “Kashmir,” “Immigrant Song,” “Black Dog” and “Communication Breakdown.”
Further gameplay highlights include a custom-molded Hindenburg Zeppelin toy which lights up during multi-ball bonus play. Three custom steel ramps and three flippers help keep the action moving, while an Icarus sculpted toy takes flight when struck by a pinball.
The faces of all four band members – frontman Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham – are emblazoned on the game's deck.
The pinball machines also features state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, creating a dynamic concert-like experience during gameplay. See further details of the new Led Zeppelin titles below.
Suggested retail price for the Pro model is $6,199, while the Premium is priced at $7,799. Only 500 Limited Edition games will be put on sale at a cost of $9,199.
