The US Postal Service routes all mail through Processing and Distribution Centers and Sectional Center Facilities. All mail for a series of ZIP Codes go through a particular Sectional Center Facility or SCF.

There are 6 of these facilities across the state.

There are two of these processing centers in the Detroit area and regionally in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Iron Mountain.

All Mail Delivered in Michigan Goes Through one of These Facilities:

Traverse City serves all of northern Lower Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Known as the Upper Peninsula Mail Processing Center, this facility in Kingsford, adjacent to Iron Mountain serves all mail in the Western and Central UP. Mail intended for Sault Ste Marie and St Ignace areas are processed in Traverse City.

The 'Metroplex' facility is in Pontiac and serves much of Eastern Michigan north to nearly Alpena.

A facility in Detroit serves the city, Downriver communities and Southeast Michigan to roughly Hillsdale. It is the only regional facility in Michigan that handles out-of-state mail as this facility processes mail of all of Northwest Ohio from Toledo to the Indiana line.

This is Every Amtrak Station in Michigan

Amtrak is America's national rail travel network. There are three lines that serve the state and serve as Amtrak's 'Michigan Service.' Those lines, the Wolverine, Blue Water and Pere Marquette, serve 22 different stations across the state.
