Southern Michigan Railroad Underpass Looks Like the Setting of a Horror Movie
There are some places you encounter when driving the roadways of Michigan that your intuition may tell you that you wouldn't want your car to break down there in a middle of the night.
One such place could be the twisty, tight and narrow railroad underpass along Michigan Avenue between Jackson and Ann Arbor.

Michigan Avenue is the historic routing across the state that has been supplemented by I-94. Had the roadway still been carrying the amount of traffic is does today, it's likely there may have been improvements made to this crossing. Rather is remains largely as it has since the overpass was built.
Above Michigan Avenue, the tracks carry Amtrak and Norfolk Southern trains.
The roadway narrows just east of the crossroads of Leoni heading towards Grass Lake as it meets the railroad at a curve leaving to a somewhat blind crossing. The concrete walls that make the overpass are thick with graffiti as is an adjacent utility shed which adds to the unnerving horror setting aspect.
Several more views of the structure were recently shared to the Rediscovered History in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Ionia & Jackson counties MI Facebook group.
So should you come across this railroad underpass on a dark and ominous night, do take it slow as much as you may want to speed past, the curvy road is marked at just 20 miles per hour as an advisory speed limit.
