For those that like to camp, you are going to have to wait until June 22 before Michigan campgrounds re-open.

According to WOOD, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources have announced that any reservations made for May 15 through June 21 have been canceled but campers will get refunds for their reservation.

This is simply to stop the spread of COVID-19. People traveling from down state and other states like to head up north and its unfair for the people who actually live up north to have people coming into their communities until further testing can be done.

The DNR is offering campers to change their reservations for later in the season and if you do, they will give you a free night. There is a deadline to make the change and get the free night of 8 p.m. Friday May 15 so contact 800-447-2727 to make the switch.

Here is a page provided by the DNR with any COVID-19 questions regarding the outdoors here.
