Michigan Man Wins $2M After Being Given the Wrong Lotto Ticket
Fate, destiny, coincidence... whatever you want to call it the stars definitely aligned for this lotto winner... or rather the dollar signs.
A 57-year-old Macomb County is $2 million richer after playing a scratch off ticket, but it wasn't the game he intended on playing. The man who chose to remain anonymous, told Michigan Lottery officials that he had stopped at the BP Gas Station in Eastpointe to put air in his wife's tires and needed change for the machine.
I went in to get change and asked for a $10 Lucky 7’s ticket. The clerk handed me the $20 ticket by mistake.
When the clerk asked if he'd like for him to exchange it something told him "keep it." Now he's got two million reasons to be happy because the "wrong" ticket ended up being the right one.
The winning man decided to take the lump-sum payment of $1.3 million and said he plans on buying a house with the money and save whatever is left.
According to the Michigan Lottery the $2,000,000 Lucky 7's game recently launched in December 2019, and thus far, a total of $54 million has been won by players. People can win anywhere from $20 to the grand prize of $2M.
The Lucky 7's page shows that two more $2M prizes remain somewhere in Michigan.
