I'm assuming Jared probably thought he might see some tropical fish, a stingray, or even a shark while scuba diving, but there was no way he was expecting to find a class ring at the bottom of the ocean.

How Did He Find The Missing Class Ring?

Jared Raymond told Fox 17 that he was working his way back to the boat when he saw something bright and shiny about 15 feet below the surface. He dove down and when he got to the bottom he scooped up a ring.

Jared said when he got back on the boat he looked the ring over and saw that it was a University of Michigan class ring dated 2012 with the name Gary Franklin.

How Jared Got The Ring Back To Its Owner

While on the boat, Jared took some pictures and posted them on social media, hoping that somehow Gary Franklin or someone that knew him would see it and reach out.  The post took off and had over 5,000 shares when it finally was seen by Gary's wife and she reached out to Jared.

The Story Behind The Lost Ring

After Jared talked to the couple he found out that the class ring had a special story to it. Gary Franklin of Southgate, Michigan put himself through college, with a wife and two kids, and the ring was a reward for himself.

The class ring is now on its way to Gary's home and should arrive by the weekend.
