Michigan Police Give Out Turkeys Instead of Tickets – The Good News
How come this never happens to ME when I get pulled over? ;)
Police officers in Roscommon County were pulling drivers over for minor infractions on Wednesday. But instead of handing out tickets, they were handing out turkeys.
Yes, the kind you can cook.
Anything from tinted windows to a broken taillight could get you pulled over. The officers would ask for license and registration, and once their information was verified, the officer would call for backup.
The other officer would show up...with a turkey and a gift card to a local business. This is the fourth year that the county has done their "Turkeys Instead of Tickets" program. They handed out 170 turkeys this year.
