Michigan State University made waves across social media when they posted for sale the giant Spartan heads on the scoreboards at Spartan Stadium.

Up for bids are the giant Spartan logo heads seen on the backs of three scoreboards at Spartan Stadium. Each of the metal logos have been fully disassembled and loaded onto pallets for hauling away. There are three of them available.

Rather than scrap the metal the MSU Surplus Store has offered the pieces up for Sparty fans to own.

Each piece is more than 20 feet in width and height and weight over 1200 pounds, so clearly much more than a Fathead-style display for a den or mancave.

The pieces have starting bids at $500 and will almost certainly go to MSU alumni and fans who will cherish the unique memorabilia forever.

But...a University of Michigan fan would have the chance to do the funniest, most diabolical thing ever. Since it's an open auction, there's no stopping a tried and true Michigan Wolverine fan from winning the auction and pulling the ultimate Big Brother prank - melting down the metal like Spartan tears after a loss to Big Blue.

And since there's intrinsic value to the metal, they'd be able to recoup some of their investment for the prank.

Many states other than Michigan offer official license plates for Michigan State and the University of Michigan.

The Evolution of D. Stumpy - the Detroit Roadside Sports Mascot

D. Stumpy is a forgotten tree stump found in the environmental wasteland of a freeway interchange between I-75 and I-96 in Detroit. The stump is often dressed to celebrate the region's sports teams. See the evolution of D. Stumpy from a thriving tree to forgotten stump.
