Michigan Still Alive, Central Out Of NCAA Baseball Tournament
The University of Michigan baseball team has a chance to advance to the Super Regional Monday night, while CMU was eliminated, but not before they had a stunning upset.
The Wolverines could have punched their ticket to the next round Sunday night, but they blew a three run lead against Creighton, and lost 11-7 at the Corvallis, OR regional.
The same two teams will play tonight, with the winner advancing to next weekend's Super Regional.
Central Michigan, meanwhile, stunned national power Miami of Florida Friday 6-5, giving the Chippewas hopes up that they could advance in Starkville, MS, but they were shut down by Mississippi State 7-2 on Saturday, and then eliminated in their return match up with Miami 18-3 Sunday night. It was Central's first NCAA tournament win since 1995.
At least the Chippewas had some fun at their regional. Watch as the team enters the dugout Saturday evening, with some of the players wearing masks and Viking helmets for good luck.
