With the D.C. riots, presidential election certification, COVID-19 and vaccines filling up the news, let's not forget the Michigan Wolverines are 10-0 so far this season.

Wolverine coach Juwan Howard who is now in his second season coaching at Michigan, has his team running on all cylinders this season. The only thing so far to stop Howard and his team have been postponed games due to COVID-19 outbreaks.

U of M so far have only had a couple real close games. One being the second week of the season when it took the Wolverines in overtime to finally beat Oakland 81-71. The other close game was against Penn State where Penn's defense held them to 62 points when all season long the Wolverines have scored 80 points or better per game.

A second meeting with Penn State was supposed to happen this Saturday but the game was postponed when the Nittany Lions paused team-related activities Wednesday (Jan. 6) due to positive COVID-19 results within their program.

The other game that was postponed was a Big Ten Challenge matchup against North Carolina State. Again COVID-19 related concerns within the Wolfpack program being the cause. The two programs will try and pursue rescheduling opportunities at a later date.

Other than those two setbacks the University of Michigan basketball team has been on fire.

The Wolverines scored 96 points against Bowling Green in the season opener. Beat Ball State by 19 points, Central Florida by 22, Toledo by 20, Nebraska by 11, Maryland by 11, #19 Northwestern by 19 and #16 Minnesota by 25. Seems to me that U of M are dialed in as a top contender so far this season.

There next stop for the Wolverines will be at home against Wisconsin Tuesday, January 12 at 7 p.m.

U of M freshman Hunter Dickinson has been unstoppable, along with Eli Brooks, Mike Smith, Franz Wagner, Isaiah Livers & Chaundee Brown have all been bringing the fire to the courts.

So for the Wolverines are 10-0 and 5-0 in the Big Ten. Let's hope the team can continue the momentum as the season continues. GO BLUE!
