We asked for your nominations and votes over the past week to crown Michigan's favorite Michigan-made summer craft beer.

Now, on the final day of Michigan Craft Beer Month, we have a winner!

Everyone likes to root for the underdog, but sometimes the favorite is just too good. This is one of those times.

Michigan's favorite Michigan-made summer craft beer is Oberon from Bell's Brewery!

Here's how Bell's describes Oberon:

Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with our signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer. Made with only 4 ingredients, and without the use of any spices or fruit, Oberon is the color and scent of sunny afternoon.

Oberon easily took home the title with 39 percent of the vote out of a 12-pack of finalists. Oberon has long been a sign of spring and summer in West Michigan. Its spring release is celebrated as Oberon Day with midnight tappings across the state. This year, Bell's offered a get-out-of-work permission slip for those celebrating the occasion. We can only assume it worked flawlessly.

There's no doubt that Bell's Oberon is a favorite part of spring and summer in Michigan.

Short's Brewing Company's Soft Parade came in second with 13 percent of the vote.

Founders Brewing Co.'s All Day IPA finished third with 12 percent of the vote.
