Thanksgiving means many things to many people. There’s football, of course (yay), there’s the endless fighting about politics (NOT yay) and ‘that’ family member who always drinks too much and pisses everyone off until the food coma sets in.

But there’s the good part – the meal. What accompanies the turkey is as important as the bird itself.

With that in mind, here are highlights of the most common unique searches from state-to-state for Thanksgiving side dishes. You can check out the complete list here.

Basically, these are the side dish recipes searched for the most in the weeks leading up to T-Day, and Michigan's is a very delicious and healthful Roasted Brussel Sprouts recipe. Have you ever had the Roasted Brussel Sprouts at Vander Mill's? If this recipe is anything like that (it has bacon in it) I'm all in!

Some interesting sides from other state's include a Pumpkin Roll in Arizona, Cornbread Dressing in Mississippi, Sausage Stuffing (I like the sound of that) in Connecticut, and a Seven Layer Salad in Ohio.

On the whole, most of it looks pretty standard, but we have no clue what ‘seven layer salad’ is, and broccoli and Thanksgiving don’t really mix well for us.
