There are, of course, many places in West Michigan to get pizza. But there are few with the made-on-demand style as MOD Pizza.
Passersby to the MOD location on Alpine Avenue were surprised to find the location permanently closed.

The storefront, which shares a strip mall with a nail salon and Chipotle Mexican Grill, is papered over both front and rear entrances with a sign reading:
THIS LOCATOIN IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED

The MOD pizza sign was removed from the building's façade.
A location on 28th Street has been closed for a while. A MOD Pizza location in Kalamazoo remains open.
The MOD Pizza on Alpine, like Kalamazoo, was owned by Schostak Family Restaurants, a franchisee based in the Detroit area best known for their Olga's Kitchen locations.

MOD Pizza was founded in Seattle in 2008 and peaked at over 500 franchise locations. The business went through a turbulent 2024 with a change in leadership and ownership.
There are other pizza chains that do the built-in-front-of-you style. One that maintains a presence in West Michigan is Blaze Pizza which is located in Kalamazoo. A similar chain, Pieology, is largely based on the West Coast.
Grand Rapids-based pizza chain Uccello's has a build-your-own concept known as Herb & Fire with locations on 44th Street in Grandville and near Knapp and Beltline on the northeast side.
