Michigan State Spartans already having a tough season, just received another devastating blow after player Joe Bachie tested positive for a performance enhancing drug.

According to WZZM, Big Ten Conference officials declared Bachie ineligible to play after testing him for performance enhancing drugs on Thursday.

The MSU football program is going to file an appeal with the conference regarding the testing.

Head coach Mark Dantonio said, "Joe Bachie has built himself into an All-Big Ten middle linebacker and two-time team captain through his incredible work ethic and leadership skills, I know Joe is resilient and accountable."

Dantonio says this situation just breaks his heart and that the team will continue support for Bachie who will forever be a Spartan.

Bachie did apologize to coaches, teammates and pays for putting everyone through this situation. Bachie said, "All my career I've done my very best to represent Michigan State in a positive manner on and off the field."
