Paws With A Cause 40th Anniversary Open House
There are some pretty special dogs here in West Michigan, and they are throwing a party!
The assistance dogs at Paws With A Cause are hosting a 40th Anniversary Celebration Open House this Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 from 11 am until 2 pm at their National Headquarters in Wayland.
Paws With A Cause® enhances the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities nationally through custom-trained Assistance Dogs. As they celebrate 40 years, they would like you to come and visit their facilities to learn more about their programs.
Activities include:
- Seeing the inner workings of their cryogenic lab
- Meeting PAWS Client-Dog Teams and hearing their stories
- Speaking with a Puppy Raiser and a Mama or Papa Dog Host
- Signing up to learn more about serving as a PAWS Dog Volunteer
- Seeing PAWS puppies at different stages of Development
- Shopping the latest PAWS merchandise
- A Kid’s Arts and Activity Center will be provided by Artists Creating Together, (Artists Creating Together empowers individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and celebrate through the arts. ACT provides art and creative expression programming, which helps to enrich the lives of people with and without disabilities throughout all of West Michigan.)
- Seeing the Veterinary surgery room and speaking with the PAWS Vet staff
- Viewing one of three newly renovated grooming rooms made possible by generous donors through the PAWS To Be Thankful campaign
- Learning about Purposeful Placements and the PAWS Prison Partners program
- Seeing trainers and dogs in action
- Experiencing why and how a PAWS Assistance Dog can help
- Seeing the customized equipment made for clients to use with their Assistance Dog
- Touring the training apartment and watching a training video
- Signing up to receive door prizes from Chow Hound or PAWS
The Paws With A Cause National Headquarters is located at 4646 S. Division in Wayland, MI.
