313 Presents announced the ampitheatre's "return to its roots" and name change Friday morning. Pine Knob has new corporate partners, United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) and Trinity Health.

313 Presents President Howard Handler said in a release,

We are beyond thrilled to welcome United Wholesale Mortgage and Trinity Health as Proud Partners of Pine Knob Music Theatre. These two premier Michigan-based organizations share our passion for providing unparalleled service and understood the importance the Pine Knob brand resonates in our community and they embraced the opportunity to help bring it back to life in a new and exciting way. This is only the beginning as we look to our 50th anniversary and beyond to engage and bring the best in live entertainment and activation to our guests.

Along with the rebranding, Pine Knob has a new logo.

"With a font that offers a vintage feel and art that captures the beloved, scenic landscape symbolic of Michigan’s premier summer concert destination...The new logo pays homage to the venue’s rich 50-year history with a fresh new touch, and embodies 313 Presents’ mission to provide access to amazing entertainment and alive moments inspired by the soul of Detroit.

The venue has been called "DTE Energy Music Theatre" (for those who *actually* adopted the name, anyway) for the past 20 years. 313 Presents, then Palace Sports and Entertainment, announced the title partnership with DTE in 2001.

Ranked the number one amphitheatre by Pollstar in 2019, the venue is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer. Pine Knob opened its doors June 25, 1972 with a matinee performance by David Cassidy. At that time, it was the largest amphitheater in the U.S., and through the years we've seen TONS of musical acts come through.

Looking ahead to its 50th season, Pine Knob will welcome AJR, REO Speedwagon and Stix, Matchbox 20, Steely Dan, Barenaked Ladies, The Doobie Brothers, Rod Stewart, and more.
