Oxygen Media is expanding the network’s popular "Preachers" franchise to Motown with the season premiere Friday night of “Preachers of Detroit."

The series, based in Detroit, focuses on themes of faith, family, and friendship as seven men and women of the cloth share their lives, transformations and triumphs in and out of the pulpit. It airs at 8 p.m. EST Friday.

"Preachers of Detroit" features Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, Bishop Corletta Vaughn, Pastor Tim Alden, Pastor David Bullock, Bishop-Elect Clarence Langston, Pastor Don William Shelby, Jr., and evangelist and Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Dorinda Clark-Cole.

Ellis is senior pastor of Greater Grace Temple.

Vaughn is senior pastor of The Holy Ghost Cathedral and chief apostle for Go Tell It Evangelistic Ministry Worldwide, which provides oversight to 70 churches nationally and more than 1,300 ministries globally.

Bullock is the leader of the Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church in Highland Park.

Langston is founder and senior pastor of Word in Action Christian Center and is joined in ministry by his wife, Co-Pastor Robyn Langston, and their three children.

Shelby and his wife, Bonita Shelby, founded Burning Bush International Ministries Church of God in Christ in Ypsilanti more than 20 years ago and it now has three locations.

Clark-Cole serves as an administrator at the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ in addition to her singing and evangelist career, which includes radio and TV shows.

A Detroit native, Alden recently expanded his ministry back to his hometown of Detroit from Los Angeles, where he ministers at City of Praise Christian Church.

Deitrick Haddon hosted the special "Preachers of Detroit: Meet the Preachers” last Friday on Oxygen.
