While we'd imagine a truckload of pineapples already on its way to USA headquarters right now, a grim but expected day for 'Psych' fans has come. USA has officially decided to make the current eighth season the final bow for the long-running psychic detective comedy starring James Roday and Dule Hill, closing out the series with a March finale that precedes an hour-long live retrospective. And yet, might hope be on the horizon?

March 26 will see the 'Psych' cast airing their last-ever episode, to be immediately followed by the live one-hour 'Psych After Show' with remembrances, retrospectives and a question-answers session with the entire cast and series creator, Steve Franks. That said, the network did have a tidbit of hope to offer fans in the official announcement.

"Psych has made an indelible imprint on the television landscape, with a unique brand of comedy,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network, in a statement. “The final season celebrates the iconic characters that have made this show so beloved, and will be an exclamation point on the series’ incredible run. And while the series will wrap in March somehow I don’t believe we’ve heard the last of Shawn and Gus.”

Haven't heard the last of Shawn and Gus, you say? Comic-Con appearances? Movie wrap-ups? Branded pineapples? Check out the farewell announced from James and Dule below, and give us your 'Psych' finale grievances in the comments!
