Queen Release ‘Sneak Peek’ Trailer for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
Queen are preparing to release the full-length trailer for their upcoming movie Bohemian Rhapsody at noon tomorrow. But with the film having taken so many years to come to fruition, they seemingly can't hold their excitement and have given us a teaser video that you can check out below.
Set to "We Will Rock You," and curiously not the song that gives the movie its title, the 20-second clip features quick bursts of scenes from the film, including lots of concert footage, with the band's show-stealing performance at Live Aid making at least two appearances.
They also unveiled a poster that features a sunglasses-wearing Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, with the words "Fearless Lives Forever."
You can see that below.
The trailer was screened for critics at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month, where, based on the little that was shown, reaction was mixed, though Malek was singled out for his portrayal. He told the crowd he had conflicting emotions about the impact of playing such an iconic figure.
“When I got this role, I thought, 'Oh, my God, this could be a career-defining performance,’” Malek said. “And then two minutes later I thought, 'This could be a career killer.'”
Arriving Nov. 2, Bohemian Rhapsody, according to its official synopsis, is "is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day."
