50 Mile Lighted Semi Parade Set to Make Christmas-Themed Convoy Across Michigan
For some children big and small there's nothing like the rugged majesty of an 18 wheeler. And for many the lights of Christmas bring the magic of the season. Imagine a Venn diagram that brings these two things together and you have a lighted semi convoy. There's one set to roll across Michigan this holiday season.
Known as the Red Arrow Convoy, a group of truckers is set to make an unforgettable holiday ride across the state.

The convoy is set for Saturday, December 14, 2024. It stretches from the Kalamazoo area to just outside of Benton Harbor.
The convoy starts out from Oshtemo at 6PM and takes a drive along Stadium Drive leave the Kalamazoo area and heading west. Stadium Drive becomes Red Arrow Highway and that's the road that the convoy will be on throughout its journey.
Staying on Red Arrow the convoy will pass just north of Mattawan and right through the downtowns of Paw Paw, Lawrence, Hartford, Watervliet and Coloma.

West of Coloma the truckers will take Red Arrow to I-196 where the parade will end after an estimated 2 and a half hours on the road.
See full details from organizers here. The parade is weather dependant and may be postponed or cancelled if the weather doesn't not cooperate.
If you're interested in seeing the trucks as they pass by, the request is not to park along the shoulder of Red Arrow. A suggestion from a parade viewer:
last year people parked in school parking lots and brought lawn chairs to the grass between the parking lot and the road!! Many people gathered in overflow parking lots along red arrow as well! Any public parking area should be accessible and fine to park at along Red Arrow
With so many communities along the route, parking should be easy to find. Just look for the crowds.
