Remodeled Planetarium at Grand Rapids Public Museum Opens March 15
After $1.2 million of reconstruction and improvements, Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium at Grand Rapids Public Museum is set to open on March 15.
The remodeled planetarium returns with three brand new shows, surround sound, and Digistar projection technology.
Cost to view a program at the planetarium is $4 in addition to admission to the museum. Members may view for free.
The new programs at Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium are:
- Dynamic Earth - Explore Earth's climate engine from monster hurriacanes to erupting volcanoes. Narrated by Liam Neeson.
- The Little Star that Could - Learn about our solar system through Little Star as he searches for planets of his own to protect and warm.
- Violent Universe - Witness the forces that hold the universe together and occasionally try to rip it apart. Narrated by Patrick Stewart.
