Rockford Ram Statue Will Be In Place For Friday’s Football Game Against West Ottawa
Spectators at this Friday's MHSAA football contest between Rockford and West Ottawa will get the first up-close look at the new Rockford RAM statue.
The statue was designed and sculpted by Rockford High alum Brett Grill, a 1997 graduate and 2010 Rockford High Hall of Fame inductee.
The final installation of the statue is set to be completed in time for this Friday's game.
The Ram will also feature a plaque where local members of the community can place their family names or local businesses can show support for the Rockford Educational Foundation.
Those that donate can choose to allocate 100% of their dollars to the foundation's educational grants. Or they can have 25% allocated to either the Band Boosters or Sports Boosters.
According to their Facebook page, you can still get names added to the commemorative plaque. You can do so on the RockfordEDFoundation.org website.
Show Your Rockford Pride and add your name to the Ram Statue
This fall an impressive, one-of-a-kind bronze sculpture of the Rockford Ram will be installed at the entrance of the newly renovated Carlson-Munger Stadium.
The Rockford Ram will welcome visitors as they enter the new plaza and is certain to be a point of pride for our community.
Make a donation to the Rockford Education Foundation (REF) and add your name to a plaque at the base of the statue. The statue and plaques will be a permanent fixture at the entrance of the stadium and will be seen by thousands of community members for decades to come.
REF was given the opportunity to use the base and pillars inside Carlson-Munger Stadium for the statue and to raise funds for the foundation. You can see the artistic rendering of the new statue below.
