Serving Up Sweetness at Dessert Wars 2014

The Amway Grand Plaza hotel's Ambassador Ballroom was the setting for some seriously delicious and sweet treats on Thursday night.

The second annual Dessert Wars, presented by Channel 95.7 and Pioneer Sugar, played to a sweet-toothed and jam-packed house of folks sampling a preponderance of goodies from local bakeries, pastry shops and restaurants to determine the Best Dessert in Grand Rapids.

Participants from greater Grand Rapids, including from Grand Haven, Grandville, Holland, New Era and Rockford, included Country Dairy, Cygnus 27, Edible Arrangements, FOODesign by Chef Brech, Grand Cakes, Grand Rapids Cheesecake Co., JW's Food & Spirits, Natty Em's Cake Shop, Paris Café & Desserts, Penn Street Bakery, Robinette's Apple Haus & Winery, Sara's Sweets Bakery, Second Floor Bakery, Sweetie-licious, Twisted Rooster and Schuil Coffee Co.

The event was a benefit for Kids' Food Basket.
