The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm watch for most of West Michigan until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The watch covers many Michigan counties including Allegan, Ionia, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Ottawa counties.

The NWS says that the strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging wind gusts, and even a brief tornado.

The storms will occur as a cold front moves into the region and collides with the warm air that is currently over the state.
