Sheryl Crow Returns To Headline TC’s Cherry Festival
The nine-time Grammy Award winning artist will headline the opening weekend of the annual up north celebration.
Cherry Festival Back To Full Speed Following Covid
Sheryl Crow will officially kick off this year's National Cherry Festival, headlining a show the opening weekend of the Traverse City event. The concert was announced Monday morning by Festival Executive Director Kat Paye.
She will perform on Saturday, July 2 on the Pepsi Bay Side Music Stage presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
Crow has had three number one singles over her lengthy career including "Soak Up The Sun" and "All I Wanna DO", and seven of her first ten albums went top ten on the Billboard charts.
It is Crow's second Cherry Fest appearance, as she also headlined the 2018 lineup.
Sheryl Is The Subject Of An Upcoming Documentary
The film "Sheryl", a documentary about Crow's rise in the music industry recently had its premiere at the SXSW Festival in Austin, TX and will debut nationally on the Showtime Network on May 6.
The Hollywood Reporter said the doc is an "appreciation" of Crow:
It is a deserved appreciation of an artist whose music has transformed the lives of many people — including her own. Scott, who last directed the Sundance flick Hal, aims for intimacy, candor and humor. Her respect for Crow guides the documentary, which dutifully chronicles the musician’s journey to stardom and the bumps she faced along the way.
The film will be accompanied by an album featuring the music from the film.
Gaffigan, ZZ Top Also Slated To Appear
In addition to Crow, comedian Jim Gaffigan will perform at the Festival on July 6.
Other announced acts scheduled to perform at Cherry Fest include Collective Soul in July 4, ZZ Top on July 8 and Boyz II Men July 9.
The National Cherry Festival runs from July 2-9, 2022.
