As the classic Christmas song goes..."It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" It seems that this year people are going all out with their holiday light displays in their yards and at local businesses. Where are some of the coolest displays?

As I was driving along the East Beltline last night, there are some incredible displays in front of Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and across the street at Cornerstone University. Further down the road there are a few other displays, including a pretty good sized one at Universal Forest Products.

Every night, on my way home from the radio station, I drive by Fifth Third Ballpark and see the huge display set up in the parking lot there. This is West Michigan’s largest, animated, drive-thru light show. The Christmas Lite Show is now celebrating their 23rd year. Enjoy nearly two miles, over two million lights with more than 50 animated displays, many lighted tunnels and more! They are open now through Saturday, January 2nd, 2021. Their hours are Sunday-Thursday 5:30-9:30 pm and Friday-Saturday from 5:30-10:00 pm. They will also be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Every year, the website Grand Rapids Kids puts together their list of some of the best displays around West Michigan. They also include a scavenger hunt for the kids. Readers can submit displays that they see to the website as well. They have also put together an interactive map (below) that shows the locations of the displays.

What a great way to stay safe and healthy...in your own car, social distancing your family from others, as you drive around west Michigan checking out the holiday displays!
