Superintendent Says ‘You Won’t Guilt or Shame Me Into a Snow day’

School districts face a lot of pressure when it comes to calling or not calling a snow day. One West Michigan superintendent says that attempts to influence the decision to call a snow day is not going to work.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, David Tebo Superintendent of Hamilton Public Schools tweeted, "you won't guilt or shame me into calling a snow day based on what you believe are hazardous conditions."

Some didn't appreciate the attitude from the superintendent, while others applauded it.

Tebo provided a couple of updates before announcing the closing on Twitter at 5:30 a.m. today. Hamilton Public Schools tweeted the news 20 minutes later.
