When it's summer in Michigan, s'mores become one of the major food groups. There's never a bad time to enjoy them.
The Michigan DNR has taken summer to a delicious new level by offering free s'mores during meteor shower watch parties on Friday and Saturday at some Michigan state parks!
Thousands of meteors are reported falling through the skies, but not many are caught on video. On Monday, one lucky Michigander caught one burning through the atmosphere. Driving south on 131, Andrew Gunneson happened to be filming as he drove, and caught the fireball as it burned through the Michigan sky.

Last week there was a total lunar eclipse which, unfortunately, we missed out on due to cloud coverage. This week the annual Lyrid meteor shower will reach its peak just before dawn on Tuesday, 4/22.
