But, this traditional centerpiece on almost every Michigan Thanksgiving table generally gets a bad rap this time of year. Many people may experience a post-meal drowsiness that's also known as the 'turkey coma'.
While it seems that Michigan would be celebrating Thanksgiving with the rest of Americans across the country, that wasn't always the case. Giving thanks around a table of family, food, friends, and of course football, hasn't been around very long in the Great Lakes state.
