Eric Hill, one of the contestants competing for the affections of Andi Dorfman on the upcoming Season 10 of 'The Bachelorette,' which launches May 19 on ABC, has died.

He was battling for his life after he was injured in a paragliding accident in Utah on Easter Sunday (April 20). Yesterday (April 22), it was revealed that Eric was in critical condition and placed in a medically-induced coma.

According to WetPaint (via RealitySteve) the accident had nothing to do with the series or taping. Local news outlet KUTV revealed that a man was paragliding with friends near Point of the Mountain in Draper, Utah in mid-afternoon. The canopy collapsed about 20 or so feet from landing, sending the victim crashing into the mountain.

He didn't fall far, but he fell fast. Hill was unconscious but breathing when transported to the hospital with head trauma.

His big sister Karen Tracey posted a confirmation of Hill's death on Facebook. It reads as follows and is unedited.

Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away. Thank you to all of your love and support and prayers and fasting. It was amazing to be with so many of his friends and family yesterday in the hospital who came to express their love for Eric. He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth. It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on the new adventures. We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday. I love you so much, little brother!

How tragic. We send our best out to Hill's friends, family and the cast and crew of the show.
