The Blue Bridge In GR Turns Red For Covid 19 Victims
It's a blue landmark that most identify with Grand Rapids. Last night it was red.
The Blue Bridge was lit red last night to honor Covid 19 victims. It was part of a national memorial Tuesday evening to remember those who have died or have suffered from complications due to the coronavirus. The color switch happened at 5:30pm last night.
The city of Grand Rapids took to Facebook asking everyone to light a single candle to help in the memorial.
At an event in Washington DC, President elect, Joe Biden said,
“To heal, we must remember. It’s hard sometimes to remember, but that’s how we heal. It’s important that we do that as a nation. That’s why we are here today.”
Joe Biden and Kamla Harris hosted a ceremony to light the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
