World of Winter Festival

The winter fun continues in downtown Grand Rapids, giving you plenty of reasons to get outside and enjoy the season. The World of Winter Festival is one of the 10 Most Epic U.S. Winter Festivals Worth Braving the Cold For, according to TheTravel website. Grand Rapids Griffins

Saturday, January 14, 2023 - 7 pm - Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, MI
The Grand Rapids Griffins will be on the ice at the Van Andel Arena on both Friday and Saturday nights. It would be a great weekend to go to a hockey game. On Friday, the Griffins play the Iowa Wild. It will be Salute to Badges Night, plus $2 beers and $2 hot dogs. On Saturday, the Grifs take on the Chicago Wolves. It will be Heroes vs. Villains Night with character appearances. There will also be a post game open skate.
Michigan Adventure Race: Winter Edition

Looking for a race to keep you motivated this winter? Race with more than 300 others in the largest winter adventure race in the U.S. You and your teammate(s) will run on and off trail, navigate with a map, and snowshoe (short loop, snowshoes provided) and conquer Amazing Race-like challenges, collecting as many checkpoints as possible in three hours. Meet the Sled Dogs
Saturday, January 14, 2023 - Kent District Library, Wyoming and Kentwood Branches
Come meet the sled dogs from Tun-Dra kennels and their owners. Ask questions about mushing, the Iditarod and more. The program will take place outside, so dress accordingly. Bring your dog in for wine tasting! The wine is for you, there will be water for the dogs. Plus, Beer City Dog Biscuits will be there to talk about their wonderful organization! This event is free, but reservations and donations are highly encouraged. There is no cost for the dogs but a limited number of tickets.
