This May Be The Best Spot For A Picnic In Grand Rapids
This Friday, grab a seat by the river with your bestie, and the best part is, you don't even have to pack a picnic basket!
One Of Grand Rapids Most Beautiful Parks Are Bringing Back The Food Trucks!
Riverside Park, a gorgeous gem of a park on the north side is bringing back Food Truck Fridays.
The event, helmed by the Grand Rapids Food Truck Association, will roll out 18 food trucks for the season opener this Friday, May 20. Everything from burritos to waffles will be featured in the grove area of the park, just north of the Guild Street entrance, just off of Monroe Ave. NW.
There's plenty of parking off the Guild Street entrance, of better yet, ride your bike up and take advantage of the park's bike trail system.
Is Riverside Park The Best Grand Rapids Park For Picnics?
Since it's in my neighborhood, I have always found Riverside Park to be one of, if not the best park in the city for eating al fresco. The long views of the Grand River, the high canopy of trees and the numerous recreational fields for everything from baseball to frisbee golf make it a perfect place to while away an entire day while barbequing.
But Friday, have someone else do the cooking, and just sit back and enjoy the setting sun. Friday evening looks like it will be pretty rain free. (Cross your fingers)
