Should Michigan’s Iconic Tridge Have Been a Quadridge?
Many visitors to Midland, one of Michigan's Tri Cities, seek out the Tridge. The unique three-prong bridge that connects the city's downtown with two area parks at the confluence of the Tittabawasee and Chippewa Rivers.
One leg connects to downtown another to Chippewassee Park and a third to St Charley and Townsley Dike Parks.

The question has been raised on social media, should be the Tridge actually be a quad bridge (quadridge? qridge?) and have 4 legs leading from it?
The 4th leg of an expanded Tridge would likely have to connect to another part of downtown. Looking at the map of the current Tridge, it's not difficult to imagine where another leg of the tri-bridge could go.
Downtown is currently connected to the Tridge at the foot of Ashman Street at the city's Farmer's Market. A forth leg could conceivably link a block or two further south in the downtown area to the foot of McDonald or Rodd Streets.

That access point would be closer to Dow Diamond, Midland minor league ball park and the large Riverside Place senior living apartment complex situated between Main Street and the Tittabawasee River.
While it's highly unlikely the bridge, which dates back to 1981, would ever change, it's fun to speculate on an iconic piece of Michigan architecture.
