Two GR Soccer Teams Make The State Finals [Video]

Forest Hills Northern in Division 2 and South Christian in Division 3 will play for state titles this week, starting Wednesday with the semi-finals.

Forest Hills Northern will square off against Mattawan Wednesday, October 30 at Holland High. Game time is 6pm.

The Huskies come into the semi-finals with an undefeated mark of 21-0-1. Only a scoreless tie back in week one against Caledonia kept them from a perfect mark.

Northern won the District title with a 2-0 win over Forest Hills Eastern, and then rolled to the regional title by the same score 2-0 victory over Byron Center.

The Huskies are looking for some redemption after finishing as state runners up in 2019 to Detroit Country Day.

South Christian will travel north to Cedar Springs to take on Ludington in the Division 3 semi-final Wednesday at 6pm.

South Christian has also hit the 20 win mark, with a current record of 20-4-1.

South Christian hosted their district, and advanced with a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over Grand Rapids Aviation. The Sailors also hosted the regional, winning the final there by a 2-1 count over Holland Christian. (highlights below)
