U of M Reports Which Foods Add (and Subtract) Time from Your Life
We've all heard that some foods are better for us than others. Have you ever really looked at these foods and how they might help or hurt your overall health. The University of Michigan has put together a report that shows how much time some foods could add -- or subtract -- from your life.
The study, which was published in the journal Nature Food, looked at more than 5,800 foods. Those foods were then ranked by their nutritional disease burden to humans and their impact on the environment.
Here is what they have found...
Which Foods Add Or Subtract Time From Your Life?
Let's look at it this way...
You decide to have a hot dog, fries, and a soft drink for dinner. That equals out to 47.2 minutes subtracted from your life!
Or maybe you were considering pizza and washing it down with a soft drink. That's a little better, that only subtracts 20.2 minutes from your life.
I guess it's back to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and guacamole for me! I could add 35.9 minutes to my life!
Is there anything you can make with salmon, a banana, tomatoes, and avocadoes? That would add 33.6 minutes to your life!
