
Want to be a Conservation Officer? Michigan DNR is Hiring
Want to protect Michigan's natural resources and serve the public?
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is hiring conservation officers.
According to the DNR, the hiring process includes a written exam, physical fitness test, in-depth background investigation, and a psychological assessment and medical evaluation.
Once hired, trainees will attend a conservation officer academy that runs more than 20 weeks, followed by 18 weeks of field training, and an additional 4-5 weeks of specialized training in the areas of marine, off-road vehicle, fish and game, and waterfowl enforcement.
Applicants must:
- Be able to lawfully possess a firearm in Michigan.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be at least 21 years of age before graduation of the academy.
- Become a resident of the State of Michigan before completion of the Probationary Training Program.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
