Get Ready! Warmer Temperatures Are On the Way for West Michigan
Winter just seems like it won't go away this year. Even though it is officially spring, last month we saw snow and cooler than normal temperatures. The month of April was also one of the cloudiest on record.
Finally, it looks like warmer and sunnier weather is about to make its way to West Michigan!
Warmer Temperatures Are On the Way
The US National Weather Service in Grand Rapids is forecasting a big swing in the weather pattern over the entire United States starting next week. We could see daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s for the state of Michigan. That would be above normal for this time of year. Average temperatures for the second week of May are only in the upper 60s with low temperatures averaging in the mid 40s.
Along with putting Michigan in the "Above Average" probability for warmer temperatures the week of May 9-13, 2022, the 6-10 day forecast is also showing the western part of the state of Michigan with "near normal" precipitation. The eastern part of the state looks like it could be even drier for that time period.
The Weather for This Weekend
The long range forecast for Grand Rapids is showing high temperatures in the 60s for this weekend, with lows around 50. The first couple days of next week have high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s with lots of sunshine! Maybe spring has finally found its way to our area.
It might be time to get that speedo into the dry cleaners and get it ready for next week!
