Probation was given to a couple of Holland, Michigan, teenagers for killing a turkey known to Park Township's Waukazoo Woods neighborhood as Mr. Gobbles. Some say probation was not enough.

Two 18-year-olds pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of a turkey in a Holland District Court Tuesday.

One said in court, "There has not been a day that's gone by where I haven't regretted these actions. I just want a chance to be given a second chance to show that's not who I am or who I want to be."

The pair were both given a year of probation, 125 hours of community service, pay $2000 in fines and court costs but if they get through the year and everything is completed, the charges will be cleared from their records.

Folks who live in the Waukazoo Woods neighborhood felt the punishment was not enough.

There were several people who attended the court case wearing t-shirts with a picture of Mr. Gobbles on the front. One of the area residents, Lynn Truhn said, "Waukazoo is all about animals, we take care of our animals, and we don't kill them."
