In February 2021 we told you that Big E's Sports Grill was closing all three of its West Michigan locations "indefinitely" due to pandemic-related struggles. Big E's in Holland, downtown Grand Rapids, and on the East Beltline in Grand Rapids all shuttered last year.

Well, Big E's Sports Grill in Holland has reopened!

Last February, Big E's shared the news of the closure of three of its four restaurants to Facebook, saying:

With the maximum occupancy remaining at 25% and no indication of when it will increase, we can no longer leave our laid off Team Members waiting in the wings for the hope that someday we can reopen. We hope that we can come back again at some point to serve you in some capacity, but are unsure when or how that will be.

The restaurant in Midland remained open.

And Thursday, March 24, 2022 saw the return of Big E's in Downtown Holland at at 121 E 8th St.

Big E's Sports Grill is owned by Suburban Inns, which also owns several hotels in West Michigan, including the Embassy Suites downtown Grand Rapids, the Hilton Garden Inn on the East Beltline, and the Courtyard Marriott downtown Holland, and the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express on Felch St. in Holland.

The Holland Big E's is currently open Thursday through Sunday 4p.m. to 11p.m.

According to a representative from Big E's, they are also planning to reopen the Grand Rapids locations. The Embassy Suites location close to downtown will be next, followed by East Beltline location. They hope to have all West Michigan Big E's Sports Grills back open by the end of the year.
