West Michigan Couple Accused of Soliciting Teens for Sex
A husband and wife in Ottawa County have been accused of soliciting minors for sex.
Police were told about Anuj and Leslie Chopra by a parent who reported to a deputy that they were concerned about the Chopra's behavior, according to a news release from the Ottawa Sheriff's Department.
Anuj Chopra has been charged with human trafficking after allegedly attempting to seduce two 16-year-olds to have sex for money. Leslie Chopra is charged with distributing sexually explicit materials to minors and using a computer to commit a crime for allegedly trying to get a 16-year-old to have sex with her.
Police said in a release that the Chopras became acquainted with the victims through their 16-year-old daughter.
Multiple electronic devices were seized via a search warrant, and police say it appears the couple solicited minors for sex in Jamestown and Hudsonville.
It is unclear if any acts actually occurred.
The Chopras were charged Wednesday and released on bond.
