What to Look FOREward to When You Visit the 2022 Meijer LPGA Classic
Grand Rapids can consider itself lucky to be the home of one of the largest women's golf tournaments in the world. The Meijer LPGA is back this weekend at Blythefield Country Club, tucked into the northern part of Kent County, and it's got something for everyone in the family.
Whether you're an avid golf fan, or just a casual observer who just wants to see the real deal up close, this tournament is one of the coolest most accessible options, and it's right in your back yard. 144 of the world's best female golfers will be playing just feet away from you all weekend long.
The other best part about this tournament? It's for a great cause- Meijer and the LPGA have teamed up with the Simply Give program to raise money to help battle food insecurity throughout West Michigan. A portion of your ticket purchase goes to help fund this program.
So what can you expect if you show up this weekend?
Dads get in free on Father's Day
Scrambling to figure out what to do for the father in your life? Take him to see some golf in person this Sunday. With your ticket purchase, Dads are welcome to come by for free and say hi.
The concessions are incredibly reasonably priced
Usually sporting events are notoriously known for having extremely expensive food prices. But- not this one! In fact, there isn't a single item on the menu that costs more than $4. They also have SEVERAL items in the $1 category. So, showing up and having lunch won't break the bank and that's AMAZING.
Putt Putt and Ice Cream are included with your entry
Not only will you have plenty to watch as 144 women from across the world compete right in front of you, they also have a few family friendly activities. So, if you have smaller companions, or just love a little fun yourself, there are a few distractions waiting for you course side.
Where do I park?
They recommend parking at Rockford High School. Shuttles will transport from Rockford High School to Blythefield Country Club, so make sure you leave yourself enough time to get back and forth to your car when you're planning your trip.
Can I donate to Simply Give without going to the tournament?
You can! You can purchase a gift card at the register the next time you stop by your local Meijer Store, or, you're able to purchase one when you order curbside or online at Meijer.com
Can I still purchase tickets?
You can! You can buy tickets in advance online or when you arrive. Daily tickets start at $10, and you can find more information on their website.
Go enjoy some amazing weather and golf this weekend for this annual treat that's back in full swing this year.
