Which Other Michigan Park Or Landmark Would You Like To See On A Quarter? [Poll]
In 2010 the US Mint started to issue quarter dollar coins that featured National Parks and other National Sites as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. After 8 years of coins being issued, it's finally Michigan's turn.
Yesterday, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore announced that the National Park would be featured on one of these quarters in 2018.
Chapel Rock, probably the most famous location inside the park, is the featured image on the rear of the coin. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore was established on October 15th, 1966 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. The park became the first National Lakeshore to be established in the United States.
But Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore isn't the only Nationally recognized Park or site in Michigan. We also have Isle Royale National Park, Keweenaw National Historical Park, Motor Cities National Heritage Area, North Country National Scenic Trail, River Raisin National Battlefield Park, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
So, of those other parks, which would you like to see featured on a coin by the US Mint one day? Take our poll below or leave a comment!
